Noriel Vilela

Noriel Vilela was known for his uniquely deep voice and began his career playing with the Ebony Singers in the 1950s.

His greatest success came in 1971 from his cover of the American classic “Sixteen Tons”. His version has recently been revived due to a placement within a Heineken commercial.

Vilela died in 1974 due to an allergic reaction to anesthesia at the dentist.
